  • A Beautiful Sunday Morning: Reflecting on a Stunning Day in Bristol

    Mar 16th, 2025

Good morning on this glorious Sunday! Waking up today, I can’t help but reflect on the beauty of yesterday. The weather was absolutely perfect—one of those days that makes you appreciate the simple joys in life.

I had the chance to visit the Bristol Suspension Bridge, and what a breathtaking experience it was. The view from the bridge was simply stunning, with the city stretching out on one side and the natural beauty of the Avon Gorge on the other. It’s one of those places that reminds you how incredible the world around us can be.

There’s something special about standing on that bridge, taking in the fresh air, and just being present in the moment. It’s the kind of place that makes you pause and appreciate life, even for just a little while.

I took plenty of pictures to capture the view, and looking back at them now, I can’t help but smile. Sometimes, all you need is a little adventure, a beautiful view, and a reminder of how much beauty surrounds us every day.

Here’s to more days like this—filled with sunshine, exploration, and moments that take your breath away!

  • Lessons in Confidence: What My Parents Taught Me

    Mar 16th, 2025

When I think about confidence, the most confident people I know are my mum and dad. Each of them showed me different ways to carry myself with strength, resilience, and self-assurance.

My mum has always been an incredible role model. She taught me to never give up, to keep breaking down walls, and to keep pushing forward no matter what. Her positivity is contagious—she is an optimistic, strong, and independent woman. I truly hope that those qualities are instilled in me because her unwavering determination is something I deeply admire.

My dad, on the other hand, had a different kind of confidence. He never cared what people thought of him. He would always say, “You take me as I am,” and he lived by that. He spoke his mind, wore what he wanted, and never let the opinions of others dictate his choices. I wish I had more of that in me. I find myself caring too much about what others think, and I know that kind of freedom—being unapologetically yourself—is something to strive for.

Confidence comes in different forms, and my parents each had their own unique way of showing it. From my mum, I learned perseverance and positivity. From my dad, I saw the power of self-acceptance. I hope to find a balance between the two, learning to be strong and optimistic while also letting go of the fear of judgment. Because in the end, true confidence is about embracing who you are and standing tall, no matter what the world thinks.

  • Turning Negative Thoughts into Positive Moments

    Mar 15th, 2025

We all have those days when negative thoughts creep in, making us feel overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck in a loop of doubt. It’s easy to let these feelings take control, but I’ve found that shifting my focus can make all the difference. Instead of getting lost in negativity, I remind myself of what I have in my life right now—my loved ones, my friends, and the support system that surrounds me. It’s not always easy, but taking a moment to acknowledge their presence brings comfort and reassurance.

One of the biggest ways I manage my thoughts is by writing them down. When emotions feel heavy, putting them on paper helps me release them from my mind. It’s like lifting a weight off my shoulders. My journal has become a safe space where I can be honest with myself, process what I’m feeling, and see my emotions from a different perspective. Sometimes, just the act of writing makes me realize that things aren’t as bad as they first seemed.

Another thing that helps me is movement. Whether it’s a short walk or stepping onto the treadmill, getting my body moving clears my head. It’s almost as if each step helps shake off the negativity, allowing me to focus on the present moment rather than the worries swirling in my mind. Walking gives me a sense of control over my emotions, reminding me that I can take small actions to feel better.

At the end of the day, negative thoughts are a part of life, but they don’t have to define our days. By focusing on what we have, leaning on those who support us, writing down our feelings, and moving our bodies, we can find ways to bring ourselves back to a place of balance. And sometimes, it’s in these little moments that we find the strength we didn’t know we had.

  • Losing Myself in Creativity: Photography, Writing, and Reading

    Mar 14th, 2025

There are certain activities in life that make time disappear. You start, and before you know it, hours have passed. For me, those activities are photography, writing, and reading. Each one brings me a different kind of joy, but they all have the same effect: they pull me in completely, freeing my mind from everything else.

    The Magic of Photography

I love taking photos, capturing moments that might otherwise go unnoticed. Sometimes, I look at my work and think, That’s not so great. Other times, I see an image and feel a sense of pride, knowing I’ve captured something special. I upload my photos to Shutterstock, hoping they’ll find a home with someone who appreciates them as much as I do. Photography is more than just snapping pictures—it’s about seeing the world differently, noticing the details, the light, the mood. It’s a way of telling a story without words.

    The Power of Writing

Writing is another way I lose myself. There’s something incredible about putting thoughts into words, shaping them into something meaningful. Whether I’m journaling, writing a story, or just scribbling down ideas, it feels like an escape. Writing lets me express emotions I might not say out loud, turning feelings into something tangible.

    The Escape of Reading

And then there’s reading—my ultimate retreat. When I find a book I love, I get lost in its world. The stress of the day fades, replaced by the adventures of characters who feel like friends. Reading brings me peace in a way few other things can. It’s like a door to another reality, a chance to experience something beyond my own life.

Each of these passions gives me something different, but together, they make up a big part of who I am. Photography lets me capture beauty, writing helps me express myself, and reading allows me to escape into another world. These are the things that bring me joy, and I love every moment I spend lost in them.

  • Why I Rewatch Films but Not TV Shows

    Mar 13th, 2025

Some people love binge-watching TV series, rewatching their favorites over and over. But for me? That’s never really been the case. I don’t tend to rewatch TV shows, but films? There are so many I’ve seen countless times, and I never get tired of them.

I suppose I’m just more of a film buff than a series girl. There’s something about the self-contained nature of a movie—one story, wrapped up in a couple of hours—that makes it perfect for revisiting. Films like Oblivion and Groundhog Day? I’ve watched them more times than I can count. Groundhog Day in particular is a bit ironic because, much like Phil Connors, I keep reliving it over and over, yet it never gets old.

And then there’s Batman. I can’t even begin to estimate how many times we’ve watched the various Batman films in our house. My husband is a massive fan, so whether it’s Keaton, Bale, or Pattinson donning the cape, Batman is always making an appearance on our screen. I may not be quite as obsessed, but I can’t deny the pull of those films—there’s always something new to appreciate, whether it’s the performances, the cinematography, or the epic storytelling.

There’s just something comforting about rewatching films. Maybe it’s the nostalgia, or maybe it’s the simple pleasure of knowing exactly what you’re in for. I love diving into a film I already know and love, catching little details I may have missed before, or just enjoying the familiar beats of a great story.

TV shows, on the other hand? Once I’ve seen them, I rarely go back. Perhaps it’s because they require a longer time investment, or maybe it’s because a lot of the magic is in the first watch—experiencing the twists and turns for the first time. Sure, there are exceptions, but for the most part, I’ll pick a favorite film over a series any day.

I know plenty of people who love rewatching shows just as much as I do movies, but for me, films are where my heart lies. Do you find yourself rewatching movies or TV shows more? And if it’s movies, which ones have you seen an absurd number of times?

  • Am I Superstitious? Well, Touch Wood…

    Mar 12th, 2025

I wouldn’t say I’m superstitious, but then again, if I ever say “touch wood” in a sentence, I absolutely have to find something wooden to touch. It’s not even a conscious decision—it’s just something I do. If I can’t find wood immediately, I’ll tap my head (which someone once told me counts), or I’ll seek out the nearest wooden surface just to be sure. Beyond that, I don’t follow any other superstitions. No throwing salt over my shoulder, no avoiding black cats, and I certainly don’t worry about walking under ladders—though that’s more about common sense than luck.

But isn’t that how it starts? A little habit, a tiny ritual that, over time, becomes second nature? It’s fascinating how these small things weave into our daily lives without us even realizing it. Superstitions, after all, stem from traditions passed down over generations, often rooted in cultural or historical beliefs. Even if we don’t believe in them, we sometimes follow them anyway—just in case.

I often wonder why “touching wood” is the one superstition I can’t seem to shake. Maybe it’s because it feels harmless, like a little safety net against bad luck. Or maybe it’s simply one of those quirks that sticks with you without any real explanation. Either way, I don’t see myself stopping anytime soon.

So, am I superstitious? I’d still say no. But, touch wood, nothing changes that.

  • Embracing the Spirit of a Dolphin: A Life of Freedom and Ocean Serenity

    Mar 11th, 2025

Even though a dolphin is not an animal, I would compare myself to a dolphin.

Imagine soaring above the water’s surface, diving deep into the endless blue, with no one telling you to stop. There are no barriers, no rules—just the unrestrained joy of movement and the soothing embrace of the ocean. The thought of being surrounded by the vastness of the sea, feeling its cool touch against my skin, and hearing the rhythmic crash of the waves fills me with an indescribable sense of peace.

The ocean has always been a place of solace for me. Its vastness is humbling, yet comforting. The salty breeze, the endless horizon, and the symphony of rolling tides all create a sense of serenity that is hard to find anywhere else. Much like a dolphin, I crave that connection to the water—a place where worries fade, and only the present moment matters.

Dolphins are not only free-spirited but also deeply connected to those around them. They move together, support one another, and communicate in ways that go beyond words. Their world is one of companionship and trust, a reminder that even in freedom, we thrive best when we have others to share the journey with.

To live like a dolphin would be to embrace life with a sense of adventure, to find joy in every leap, and to never be afraid of the unknown. Though I may not have fins or the ability to ride the waves at will, I can still carry the dolphin’s spirit within me—seeking moments of freedom, chasing dreams with fearless energy, and always listening to the call of the ocean.

Because somewhere in the deep blue, a dolphin leaps for the sheer joy of it. And how wonderful it would be to do the same.

  • A Letter to My 100-Year-Old Self: A Life Full of Love and Memories

    Mar 10th, 2025

    Dear 100-Year-Old Me,

As I sit here today, I can hardly believe that 100 years have passed. The years seem to have slipped through my fingers faster than I ever expected, and yet, when I look back, they were filled with such rich experiences. Time has changed me, no doubt, but as I reflect on all that’s happened, I’m filled with a deep sense of gratitude.

When I think about what I’ve lived through, one of the greatest gifts has been the child I brought into this world—my beautiful, precious child, who has filled my life with joy, wonder, and love. Watching them grow has been one of the most fulfilling parts of my journey. I’ve adored every moment spent as a parent, each milestone, each smile, each laugh. They have been a source of constant pride and happiness.

Surrounding myself with love and happiness was always a priority, and I am so grateful to have built a life filled with these treasures. Family and friends, with their support and kindness, have woven themselves into the fabric of my story. Their love has been a steady force that carried me through even the hardest times.

But of course, life hasn’t been all sunshine. There have been lows—times when the world felt heavy and sadness seemed to weigh on me. I’ve faced my share of struggles and heartaches. But with every tear, every sorrow, I learned something new about myself. I found strength I didn’t know I had, and beneath all the hardships, I found hope. And, ultimately, through it all, I came to understand that it is these very struggles that make the moments of joy feel so much sweeter.

Now, as I sit here looking out over the sea, I feel a deep sense of peace. My body may not be what it used to be—every time I get up, everything hurts. But that’s okay. It’s a reminder of all that I’ve experienced, all the steps I’ve taken in this long journey. My body may ache, but my heart is full.

When I close my eyes, there’s one thing I can say without a doubt: I have no regrets. Life unfolded exactly as it was meant to. Sure, there were moments I stumbled, moments I wish I could change, but all of it—the good and the bad—led me to this place, this time. And I wouldn’t change a thing.

But there’s one more thing I want to say, something that I will always cherish. I found the love of my life in my husband. Together, we’ve shared so many moments, both simple and grand. His love has been a constant in my life, and his presence has been a comfort and a joy. I can truly say that I’ve been blessed to share this life with him, and I’m grateful for the partnership we’ve built.

As you read this, dear 100-year-old me, I hope you smile, knowing that the life you’ve lived has been rich with love, joy, and fulfillment. I hope you find peace in the memories you’ve created and the love you’ve given and received. You’ve made it to 100, and that in itself is something to be proud of.

Here’s to the journey that brought us here, and to the memories we’ve made along the way. I can only hope that as you reflect on all that’s passed, you’re filled with the same gratitude and contentment that I feel now. We’ve lived a full, beautiful life.

    With all my love,
    Your 100-Year-Old Self

  • Sunday Cutie: Our Cockapoo’s Fresh Groom!

    Mar 9th, 2025

    Hi everyone!

I just had to share these adorable photos of our gorgeous Cockapoo after her latest grooming session. She looks absolutely precious, and we can’t get over how fluffy and fresh she is!

There’s something about a freshly groomed pup that just melts your heart—her little face is even more expressive, and she’s strutting around like she knows how cute she is. The groomer did an amazing job, and we’re so happy with how neat and soft she looks.

If you have a Cockapoo (or any fluffy pup), you know how quickly they can go from teddy bear to shaggy little gremlin! It’s always so satisfying to see the transformation after a good trim.

Hope you’re all having a wonderful Sunday! Let me know if you have a Cockapoo too—I’d love to hear how often you get yours groomed.

  • A Perfect Day Out: Bath or Milan?

    Mar 9th, 2025

There’s something magical about stepping out for a day of exploration, whether it’s close to home or a dream destination further afield. If I had the choice, I’d either spend a delightful day in Bath or finally make my way to Milan—two places that spark joy in very different ways.

    Bath: The Perfect Local Escape

Whenever I want a day out without venturing too far, Bath is always my first choice. It has an undeniable charm, with its beautiful Georgian architecture and vibrant atmosphere. The shops are some of the best, filled with unique finds and little treasures that make browsing an absolute delight.

After a bit of retail therapy, there’s nothing better than finding a cozy spot by the river. A warm drink in hand, a delicious slice of cake—what more could you ask for? Watching the world go by, listening to the gentle sounds of the water, and soaking in the peaceful surroundings—it’s a simple pleasure that never gets old.

Milan: A Dream Yet to Come True

If I were to go further afield, Milan would be at the top of my list. It’s been a dream of mine to visit, and one day, I hope to make it a reality. The idea of wandering through the grand streets, admiring the stunning architecture, and immersing myself in the city’s rich culture is incredibly exciting.

Of course, no trip to Milan would be complete without indulging in Italian food. A perfect afternoon would involve sipping an espresso at a charming café, savoring fresh pasta or a classic risotto, and, of course, enjoying a scoop (or two) of authentic gelato.

Whether it’s a leisurely day in Bath or a dream getaway to Milan, both offer their own kind of magic. Until then, I’ll keep enjoying my little moments of escape, dreaming of the day I finally set foot in Milan.
