  • My First Crush – A Glimpse into the Past

    Jun 19th, 2025

    My very first crush.

I think his name was Matthew—funny how even that feels hazy now. But back then? Oh, every girl fancied him. He had that confident smile, that effortless coolness only teenage boys seem to master. And when he walked down the hall? It was like time slowed down. Ridiculous, really. But that’s how it felt.

I remember sitting in class, pretending to be absorbed in my book, only to sneak a glance over at him. And the one time—just once—when he looked back? I swear I stopped breathing for a second. Of course, I did what any awkward teenage girl would do: immediately turned away and acted like nothing happened. Classic.

Looking back now, it’s funny how serious it all seemed. How we thought that who you liked, who sat next to who in science class, or whether someone wrote “luv ya” or just “see ya” in your leavers book mattered. Everything felt so important, so defining.

But flipping through that book now, I see how innocent it all was. Before real jobs, bills, heartbreaks, responsibilities. Life was simple then. Crushes were sweet, drama was petty, and friendships were everything.

It makes me smile. And that’s the beautiful thing about first crushes—they stay with you, tucked away in pages of old notebooks, in the back of our minds, a little reminder of who we once were.

  • Dreaming Together: The Adventures My Husband and I Would Love to Go On

    Jun 18th, 2025

Recently, a simple prompt sparked something beautiful in me — a vision of the adventures my husband and I would love to experience together. There’s something truly special about dreaming side by side, imagining the places we’ll explore hand in hand and the memories we’ll create. Our bucket list sparkles with incredible destinations: Italy, France, New York, and Canada. Each place promises its own magic, and I want to share the adventures we dream of in more detail — moments we can’t wait to live.

Italy: A Romantic Journey Through Time

Italy feels like a love letter written in art, history, and food. I picture us wandering together through Rome’s ancient streets, our footsteps echoing in places that have witnessed centuries of passion and power.

    • Prompt: Imagine us sharing a cappuccino on a sunlit Roman terrace, the city waking up around us. What stories will we imagine of the emperors and artists who once walked these streets?
    • Prompt: Visualize a gondola ride in Venice at sunset, the water shimmering as we float past historic palaces. How will the quiet magic of the canals deepen our connection?
    • Prompt: Picture us cycling through the Tuscan countryside, stopping to taste fresh olives and sip Chianti wine beneath a warm golden sky. What laughter and conversations will fill these moments?
    • Prompt: Envision exploring Florence’s museums together, standing before masterpieces that capture the human spirit — how will this inspire us both?

France: The Art of Living and Loving

France, with its timeless elegance and charm, feels like the perfect backdrop for a romantic adventure. Paris, in particular, calls to us with its beauty and endless surprises.

    • Prompt: Imagine us strolling along the Seine, hands intertwined, as the city lights start to twinkle. What dreams will the river’s gentle flow carry for us?
    • Prompt: Picture sitting in a cozy café in Montmartre, savoring flaky croissants and rich coffee while listening to the soft hum of Parisian life. How will this slow moment remind us to savor life’s simple pleasures?
    • Prompt: Visualize a day trip to the lavender fields of Provence, where the scent fills the air and the endless purple blooms stretch before us. How will this landscape bring peace and joy to our souls?
    • Prompt: Envision wandering together through cobbled streets of a quaint village, sharing stories with locals and discovering hidden gems. What new perspectives will this open for us?

New York: Energy and Excitement Hand in Hand

New York is a city alive with possibility — a place where every corner pulses with energy and dreams. I see us diving into its vibrant life, soaking up the sights, sounds, and flavors together.

    • Prompt: Imagine our first glimpse of Times Square at night, surrounded by dazzling lights and buzzing crowds. How will this whirlwind of energy inspire our own ambitions?
    • Prompt: Picture us relaxing in Central Park, watching street performers and enjoying a picnic on a sunny afternoon. What peaceful moments will balance the city’s fast pace?
    • Prompt: Envision us watching a Broadway show, the music and stories drawing us into another world. How will this shared experience spark our own creativity?
    • Prompt: Imagine exploring diverse neighborhoods — tasting dumplings in Chinatown, dancing to jazz in Harlem, and browsing art galleries in Brooklyn. How will these discoveries enrich our understanding of the world and each other?

    Canada: Wilderness and Wonder Together

For a different kind of adventure, Canada offers vast wild beauty and quiet reflection. I dream of us exploring its pristine landscapes, finding peace and strength in nature’s embrace.

    • Prompt: Imagine standing side by side beneath the Northern Lights, colors swirling overhead in a cosmic dance. How will this awe-inspiring moment deepen our bond?
    • Prompt: Picture hiking together in the Rocky Mountains, breathing in crisp, fresh air, surrounded by towering peaks. What conversations will flow as we share this breathtaking view?
    • Prompt: Visualize paddling a canoe across a crystal-clear lake at dawn, the water mirroring the sky. How will this serene experience refresh our spirits?
    • Prompt: Envision cozying up in a rustic cabin after a day of adventure, sharing stories by the fire. How will this quiet time nurture our connection?

These adventures are more than trips; they’re dreams we hold close, hopes to explore the world — and each other — more deeply. I’m so excited to share these experiences with my husband, building a lifetime of memories one adventure at a time.

What adventures do you dream of sharing with your loved one? I’d love to hear your bucket list too — maybe together we’ll inspire each other’s journeys.

  • Wanderlust Dreams: Places I Long to Visit (and Revisit!)

    Jun 18th, 2025

There’s something magical about the idea of hopping on a train, watching the world blur by as you drift from one city to the next. I often find myself daydreaming about doing exactly that—just packing a small bag, grabbing a window seat, and letting the rails lead me through beautiful landscapes and iconic destinations.

At the top of my list? Italy—again. I’ve been before, and yet I feel like I’ve barely scratched the surface. There’s something timeless about Italy, from the cobblestone streets of Rome to the dreamy canals of Venice. And let’s not forget the rolling hills of Tuscany or the dramatic coastline of the Amalfi Coast. The food, the art, the history—it calls me back every time.

Then there’s France, a country that seems to embody romance and elegance. I’d love to stroll through the lavender fields of Provence, sip coffee at a quiet Parisian café, and admire the breathtaking châteaux scattered throughout the countryside. France has this effortless beauty that I just can’t resist.

And though it’s not a country, New York holds a special place in my heart. The city buzzes with energy, but there’s also a different kind of magic when you explore upstate New York—lush forests, charming small towns, and peaceful lakes. It’s a mix of fast-paced life and natural serenity, and I want to experience both.

Canada is another place I’d love to explore more deeply. From the rugged coastlines of Nova Scotia to the majestic Rockies in Alberta, and the multicultural cities like Toronto and Vancouver, there’s just so much variety. The sheer scale and beauty of the Canadian landscape are calling me.

Honestly, my list doesn’t end there—there are so many more places I’d love to see. I imagine catching a train from one destination to the next, each stop a new story waiting to be lived. Traveling by train feels slow in the best way: no airports, no rush, just the chance to soak in the scenery and live in the moment.

Here’s to the day I finally step aboard that train and start crossing these dreams off my map.

  • I Don’t Really Like Talking About Myself… But Here’s What I Do Like

    Jun 17th, 2025

I’ve never been one to talk much about myself. I usually prefer staying in the background, letting others shine, and just getting on with things quietly. But every now and then, it’s good to stop and reflect on who we are — and more importantly, what we actually like about ourselves.

So here’s me, stepping slightly out of my comfort zone to say this:
My favourite thing about myself is that I don’t take myself too seriously.

Life throws enough at us as it is — so being able to laugh at myself, see the humour in awkward moments, and not let the little things get under my skin has become one of my most valuable tools. I’ve learned that not everything has to be perfect, polished, or taken to heart. Sometimes, it’s okay to just be, to mess up, to laugh, and to move on.

But if I had to add anything else I appreciate about myself, it’s that I’m a caring and kind person. I genuinely want the best for people. Whether it’s offering a listening ear, helping where I can, or just being someone others can rely on — kindness matters to me. It always has.

So no, I might not love being the centre of attention or shouting my strengths from the rooftops — but I do love being someone who leads with kindness, keeps things light, and never forgets to laugh (even at myself).

  • Trading City Streets for Coastal Dreams: Why I’d Love to Retire by the Sea

    Jun 16th, 2025

I’ve spent most of my life near the city. The hum of traffic, the buzz of people, the never-ending pace — it’s all I’ve ever really known. And for years, it suited me just fine. The convenience, the connection, the constant motion — it kept me going.

But as I grow older, I find myself slowing down in more ways than one. The noise doesn’t energize me like it used to. The rush doesn’t excite me anymore. Lately, my thoughts drift more and more toward one particular dream: retiring near the coast.

There’s something about being by the sea that brings me a sense of calm I can’t quite explain. I’ve always loved Cornwall — the winding coastal paths, the rugged cliffs, the soft crunch of sand underfoot. Some of my most peaceful memories are of simply walking along the beach, breathing in that salty sea air and feeling the wind on my face. It’s a kind of peace the city could never offer.

Retiring near the coast isn’t about escape — it’s about returning to a part of myself that feels most alive in nature. The idea of waking up to the sound of waves instead of sirens, of swapping concrete for coastline, and chaos for calm… it just feels right.

Maybe it’s not just about where I want to retire, but how I want to feel in this next chapter: grounded, peaceful, and close to the sea.

  • Morning all,I hope you’re doing well on this Thursday.

    Jun 12th, 2025

As we know, Father’s Day is coming up this Sunday here in England. And for some of us, it can be a difficult time. For me, it always hits hard—because my dad is no longer here. Every Father’s Day is a quiet reminder of that absence, and if you’ve ever lost a parent or someone close to you, you’ll understand how that feels.

Grief changes with time. I’ll admit, as the years have passed, the pain doesn’t sting quite as sharply. But it’s never easy. What’s helped me is focusing on the good times—the laughter, the warmth, the unforgettable little moments we shared. That’s what I try to hold onto now.

If you’re lucky enough to still have a parent in your life, treasure them. Tell them you love them. Spend time with them, even if it’s just a quick call or a cup of tea on a quiet afternoon. You never really know how much time you have with someone, and sometimes we forget that in the rush of everyday life. As humans, we often take things for granted without even realising it.

These days, I make sure to spend as much time as I can with my mum. I’m so grateful she’s still here with me. I cherish our time together in a way I might not have fully understood when I was younger.

So this Father’s Day, whether you’re celebrating with your dad, remembering him, or navigating the space he left behind—hold onto the love. Because even if they’re no longer physically here, the people we’ve lost live on in how we carry ourselves, how we love others, and in the way we honour their memory.

  • There’s something magical about writing.

    Jun 12th, 2025

It’s more than just putting words on a page—it’s about creating worlds, building lives, and giving breath to thoughts and emotions that might otherwise go unspoken. When I write, it feels like I’m unlocking something that lives deep inside me. It’s a part of me that needs expression, that thrives on creativity and connection. Writing gives me purpose. It grounds me, excites me, and sometimes even heals me.

Right now, I’m working on a story. It’s still growing, still finding its voice, but every time I sit down to write, I feel completely immersed in it. These characters I’m shaping—they begin to feel real. Their struggles, their triumphs, their quiet moments—I carry them with me even when I’m not writing. It’s like holding a secret world inside me that’s slowly being revealed.

But my love for writing began with reading.

Books have always been a kind of escape for me. The moment I open a book, the world around me fades. I can close my eyes and feel like I’m there—walking beside the characters, hearing their thoughts, smelling the air in their world. I’ve travelled to places I’ve never seen, felt emotions I’ve never lived, all because of words carefully placed by someone brave enough to tell a story.

Reading and writing are my twin passions. One feeds the other. Every story I read teaches me something—about pacing, about dialogue, about human nature. And every word I write brings me closer to understanding myself and others.

I write because I love it. I write because it lights a spark in me.
And I read because it reminds me how powerful words can truly be.

  • Morning Ramble: A Surprisingly Brilliant Cleaning Tool

    Jun 2nd, 2025

    Morning all!

Okay, I know this might sound like a very boring topic to some, but hear me out—especially if you’re one of those people who finds cleaning oddly satisfying (no judgment, I’m starting to understand the hype myself!).

Recently, I was given a gift that I never expected to get excited about… a hard bristle crevice cleaning brush. Yes, that’s right—a cleaning brush. And honestly? I’m kind of obsessed with it.

Now, I wouldn’t usually shout about cleaning products, but this little thing is a game-changer. It gets into all those annoying little spaces—window tracks, between tiles, the edge of taps, you name it. I didn’t realise how much grime had built up in places I don’t usually reach until this brush tackled it all with zero fuss.

It’s got tough bristles that really get the job done, and the shape makes it easy to get into tight corners. It’s one of those things that makes you wonder how you ever managed without it (especially if you’re into spring cleaning or just love a good scrub-down every now and then).

So yes, not the most glamorous topic to start the day with—but if you love a clean space or just want to try something that actually works, I’d definitely recommend giving this brush a go. You might end up enjoying cleaning more than you thought!

    Until next time—happy scrubbing! 🧽✨

  • Finding My Voice: Overcoming the Fear of Speaking Up

    Jun 2nd, 2025

For most of my life, one of my biggest struggles has been speaking my mind—especially when I’ve felt uncomfortable, unsure, or unhappy in certain situations. Whether it was in the workplace or everyday life, I used to hold back my thoughts, opinions, and even questions out of fear. Fear of conflict, fear of being judged, and sometimes, fear of simply not being heard.

    It wasn’t easy.

Over the years, I found myself in situations where I stayed silent, even when something didn’t sit right with me. In meetings, I’d nod along even if I didn’t fully agree. If I needed clarification or advice at work, I’d hesitate to ask, worried it might make me look incapable or weak. And when uncomfortable moments arose—whether professionally or personally—I’d often put my own feelings aside for the sake of keeping the peace.

But bottling things up took its toll. It left me feeling frustrated, overlooked, and, in some cases, even taken advantage of. It became clear that staying quiet wasn’t helping anyone—least of all, me.

Slowly but surely, I started learning to use my voice. I began asking questions when I didn’t understand something. I voiced concerns when something didn’t feel right. I stopped saying “yes” when I really meant “no.” And perhaps most importantly, I began standing up for what I believed in, even when it felt uncomfortable.

Was it scary? Absolutely. Speaking up isn’t always easy—especially when you’ve spent years convincing yourself not to. But every time I did it, I grew more confident. I realized that asking for help doesn’t make you weak—it makes you human. That disagreeing respectfully doesn’t make you difficult—it makes you honest. And that setting boundaries doesn’t push people away—it teaches them how to treat you.

People can and will step over you if you let them. That’s a lesson I’ve learned the hard way. But now, I know that my voice matters—and so does yours.

If you’re someone who struggles with speaking up, I see you. I’ve been there. And I promise, it’s possible to find your voice. Start small. Speak honestly. And remind yourself that your thoughts, feelings, and experiences are valid. Because they are. Always.

  • Little Joys That Fill My Days

    Jun 1st, 2025

There are many things that bring joy to my life—some big, some small, but all deeply meaningful to me in their own ways.

Every morning starts with the most adorable sight: my cockapoo, eyes full of excitement, tail wagging like mad, practically bursting with energy and love. She’s always the first to greet me, and her need for a morning hug melts my heart. That pure, unconditional affection is the kind of joy that can’t be measured—it’s just felt.

And yes, this might sound a little corny (but I don’t care!)—having an amazing husband who supports me in everything I do is a blessing I’m truly grateful for. He’s my biggest cheerleader, my calm in the storm, and someone who just gets me. Life doesn’t feel so heavy when you’ve got someone beside you who believes in you, even on your off days.

Another quiet joy in my life? Writing. There’s something so grounding about putting pen to paper. It doesn’t have to be perfect or even make much sense—it’s just mine. Whether I’m jotting down random thoughts, keeping a journal, or reflecting on my day, writing gives me peace. It’s where I find myself.

Joy isn’t always loud or flashy. Sometimes, it’s in the everyday moments—a cuddle from your dog, a supportive word from your partner, or the simple act of writing your heart out.

And honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
