  • Morning all ☀️Hope your Wednesday is going well!

    Aug 6th, 2025

I feel like I need to talk about something important today — therapy.

Has anyone here ever heard of BetterHelp? It’s an online therapy platform, and honestly, it changed my life.

Recently, I had a heart-to-heart with my mum. She’s still grieving deeply, even five years after my dad passed away. It broke my heart seeing her still so weighed down by it all. I gently suggested counselling, just like I had to do for myself a while ago.

A couple of years back, I noticed my own mental health was starting to slip. Quietly at first, then in ways that began to affect everything — work, relationships, even just day-to-day motivation. That’s when I decided to give BetterHelp a try.

And honestly? It was the best decision I could’ve made.

The whole process was so much more comfortable than I expected. I had access to a licensed therapist, someone I could message anytime and even schedule calls with. I kept a journal through the app, and my therapist always offered thoughtful responses. Most importantly, she gave me tools — real, practical tools — to cope, to process, to grow.

It wasn’t a magic fix overnight. But over time, it helped me feel like me again.

If you’re struggling — or even just feeling a little “off” — please know there’s no shame in reaching out for help. Therapy isn’t just for when you’re in crisis. It’s for maintenance. For understanding yourself. For healing. 💬❤️

If you’ve ever tried BetterHelp or another form of therapy, I’d love to hear your experience. Let’s open up the conversation. You never know who might need to hear it today.

    Take care of yourselves. 🌿

  • The Most Expensive Meal I’ve Had — And Why It Was Worth Every Penny

    Aug 6th, 2025

When someone mentions “the most expensive meal you’ve ever had,” most people think of fine dining, tiny portions, and a hefty bill. For me, that meal was at Miller & Carter — and honestly, it was worth every single penny.

Now, let me be clear: I’m not a steak person. I’ve always found it a bit overrated — too chewy, too heavy, just not for me. But Miller & Carter changed my mind, even if just for one night.

The whole experience felt special right from the moment we walked in. The service was absolutely gorgeous — warm, professional, and not at all rushed. You could tell they cared about the details, and that set the tone for the evening.

I decided to step outside my comfort zone and try the fillet steak. It’s something I’d normally avoid, but hey, when in Rome… and wow, I was not disappointed. It was incredibly tender, cooked perfectly to my preference, and full of rich, deep flavour. Paired with their signature onion loaf, seasoned fries, and that indulgent dripping beef sauce it was a dream meal. I genuinely didn’t expect to love it as much as I did.

Even though it came with a higher price tag than what I’d usually spend on dinner, the quality of the food and the overall experience made it feel worth it. Sometimes, it’s not just about the meal itself — it’s the atmosphere, the company, and trying something new.

Would I go back? Absolutely. And next time, I might just say I’m a steak fan after all.

  • Morning All – A Quick Treadmill Update!

    Aug 5th, 2025

    Morning all!

Just popping back on as I completely forgot to mention something important in my last post about the treadmill we recently purchased. Along with the treadmill, we also bought a mat to go underneath it – and honestly, it’s something I definitely recommend if you’re thinking of getting a treadmill for your home.

The mat is really sturdy and durable, and it makes a big difference. It helps to keep the treadmill stable while you’re using it, protects the floor, and even reduces a bit of noise and vibration.

Sometimes it’s the little extras that make all the difference – and this mat is one of them! So if you’re looking at treadmills, don’t forget the mat! 😊

Wishing everyone a lovely Tuesday – stay active and take care! 🖤

  • Morning All – Tuesday Thoughts & A Treadmill Recommendation!

    Aug 5th, 2025

Morning all! Hope everyone’s doing good on this lovely Tuesday.

Just wanted to hop on and share something we recently bought that I’m genuinely loving – our new fold-up treadmill! It’s such a great addition to the house, especially now that the weather can be a bit unpredictable (and let’s be honest, sometimes motivation is too!).

What I love most is that it folds up, so it doesn’t take over the room – perfect if you’re short on space or just don’t want your treadmill on show 24/7. It’s sturdy, smooth to walk or run on, and surprisingly quiet, which is a big bonus.

We also bought a mat to go underneath, which I highly recommend as well. It keeps the treadmill in place and helps protect the flooring too.

If you’ve been thinking about getting one for home, I’d definitely say go for it. It’s already helped me feel a bit more active and clear-headed – even a short walk can make a big difference.

Have a great Tuesday everyone – stay well and take care of yourselves

  • If I had to describe myself to someone, I think I’d start by saying I’m kind. Not the flashy kind of kind, but the quiet kind—the type that checks in on people, remembers the little things, and always offers a smile even when life feels heavy. It’s just who I am. I genuinely care, often more than I probably should, but I wouldn’t change that part of me.

    Jul 31st, 2025

I’m someone who naturally puts others before myself. It’s instinctive—whether it’s making sure someone’s had a good day before talking about my own, or giving my last bit of energy to make someone else’s moment a little brighter. It’s not about being selfless all the time (we all have our moments), but I get joy from knowing I’ve helped someone feel heard, seen, or supported.

I’d also say I’ve got a good sense of humour. Life’s too short to take everything seriously, and sometimes laughter is the best way to get through the tricky days. I love being silly, cracking jokes, or just having a giggle over something ridiculous. There’s something healing about finding the light in everyday moments, even if it’s just laughing at myself now and then.

Patience is another big part of who I am. Whether it’s waiting for someone to open up, listening without jumping in, or just taking a deep breath when things don’t go to plan—I’ve learned that being calm and steady often helps others feel the same. And when you’re a good listener (which I pride myself on being), patience naturally follows. People often come to me just to talk, to vent, or to find some comfort—and I never take that trust for granted.

I don’t have everything figured out, and that’s okay. I’m human. But if you ever need someone who’ll listen without judgment, who’ll make you laugh, and who’ll put your heart first—you’ve found her.

  • The One Thing That Bothers Me Most: Rudeness and Assumptions

    Jul 15th, 2025

If there’s one thing that truly gets under my skin, it’s rudeness—especially when it comes from people who think they’re somehow better than you. That air of superiority, that dismissive attitude… it never sits right. Because at the end of the day, aren’t we all just trying to get through life the best way we can?

It doesn’t take much to be kind. A simple “thank you” can go a long way. Holding a door open, offering a smile, acknowledging someone’s presence—these are little things, but they speak volumes. And yet, it’s amazing how many people walk through life forgetting the basics of human decency. Acting as if good manners are beneath them. As if being respectful is optional.

What bothers me even more is when people make assumptions about you. When they judge without knowing your story, your struggles, or your heart. Maybe they think you’re not smart enough, successful enough, or interesting enough—without ever taking a moment to actually get to know you. They see a snapshot of your life and think they know the whole picture. But they don’t.

Everyone has their own battles. Everyone’s carrying something invisible. So why judge? Why not lead with kindness and curiosity instead?

The truth is, respect should be the default—not something people have to earn. We’re all equals. No one is above anyone else. And if more people remembered that, the world might just feel a little softer, a little warmer, and a whole lot more human.

  • A New Chapter: Building a Future by the Sea

    Jul 8th, 2025

There’s something incredibly freeing about the thought of starting fresh—pressing reset and stepping into a future that feels more in tune with who you truly are. For me, the thing I’m most excited about is building a future with my family, away from the chaos of the city, and closer to the calming rhythm of the sea.

City life has its perks, but it can also be noisy, fast-paced, and draining. After years of being surrounded by traffic, tall buildings, and the constant hum of busyness, I’ve realized how much I crave peace. Not just silence—but real, soul-soothing peace. The kind you find in quiet mornings by the shore, the scent of salty air on your skin, and the sound of waves gently crashing as your day begins.

Moving out of the city feels like the first step toward a more intentional life. A slower pace, more space to breathe, and time to truly connect—not just with each other, but with ourselves. It’s about watching the kids grow up with sand between their toes and wind in their hair. It’s about Sunday walks along the coast, fresh seafood dinners, and learning how to just be.

Starting fresh isn’t about running away. It’s about moving toward something better. For me, that means creating a home filled with love, laughter, and salty sea breezes. A place where family memories are made, where we can grow together, and where life feels like it’s unfolding just as it should.

The future may still be unwritten, but I know one thing for sure: I’m ready for it. And I can’t wait to build it—right by the sea, with the people I love most.

  • A Life in Music: My Ever-Spinning Soundtrack

    Jul 6th, 2025

If I had to describe my life in one word, it would be music.

Not a day goes by where I don’t have something playing in the background — whether it’s a smooth acoustic melody easing me into the morning, a jazzy tune bouncing through my thoughts in the afternoon, or a bit of pop and rock adding fire to my evenings. Music isn’t just something I enjoy — it’s something I need. Honestly, I don’t think I could live without it.

    The Soundtrack to My Soul

My taste is a bit of a genre smoothie: part acoustic, a swirl of jazz, a strong shot of pop, and just enough rock to shake things up. There’s something about acoustic music that feels raw and real — stripped down, no frills, just a voice and strings telling a story. It’s like hearing someone’s heart in a song.

Then there’s jazz — unpredictable, alive, free. I love how it plays with rhythm and melody like a conversation. Jazz is never quite the same twice, which makes every listen feel like a unique experience.

Pop? That’s my mood booster. Catchy, fun, bright — it’s like audio sunshine. Sometimes all you need is a familiar hook and a beat that makes you move, even if you’re just walking down the street with your earbuds in.

And rock… well, rock brings the attitude. It’s raw energy and honesty. I don’t go too heavy with it, but I love a bit of grit — electric guitar, a driving rhythm, lyrics that mean something. It reminds me that music can challenge and comfort at the same time.

    Music as a Lifeline

There’s something magical about how a song can completely shift your mood. A sad song can feel like a friend when you’re down. A joyful one can lift you up when nothing else can. Sometimes I’ll replay a track over and over because it says what I can’t put into words.

It’s not just background noise — it’s emotion, memory, identity. It’s where I go when I need to feel connected to something bigger than myself.

    Final Note

I don’t care about sticking to one genre. Music isn’t meant to be boxed in. It flows, changes, surprises you — just like life. Whether it’s an acoustic ballad, a jazz improv, a pop anthem, or a rock chorus that makes your chest thump — if it makes me feel something, I’m in.

So yeah, music isn’t just a hobby. It’s my way of living. And I wouldn’t trade that for anything.

  • My Definition of Romance: It’s the Little Things That Count

    Jul 3rd, 2025

I’m not the most romantic person in the world—at least not in the traditional sense. I don’t believe romance is about grand gestures or expensive gifts. To me, it’s the small, everyday moments that truly matter.

Romance is about being there for someone when it counts. It’s listening—really listening—when they need to talk. It’s cooking a meal even when I don’t feel my best, just to bring a little comfort and care into their day. It’s going for a walk together, sharing a quiet moment that creates memories far more meaningful than anything money can buy.

I’m someone who believes deeply in memories, not material things like jewelry or fancy presents. Those tangible items might sparkle and shine, but it’s the simple acts of kindness and presence that build the lasting bonds of love.

For me, romance is less about grand declarations and more about showing up in small, thoughtful ways—day after day. Because at the end of the day, it’s those moments that stay with us the longest.

  • Helping Our Pets Beat the Heat

    Jun 30th, 2025

With this warm weather we’ve been having lately, I’ve found myself thinking a lot about my dog and how they must be coping. As much as I love a bit of sunshine, I can’t help but feel for our furry friends who don’t have the luxury of taking a cool shower or kicking off their fur coats!

My dog has definitely been slower on walks, seeking out shady spots, and flopping down in front of the fan whenever possible. It got me thinking—how can I help them stay cool and comfortable in this heat?

While browsing online the other day, I came across something I hadn’t considered before: a cooling mat for dogs. What a great idea! It’s such a simple yet effective way to keep our pets cool during the hotter months. Most of them don’t require any water or electricity—they’re pressure-activated and start working as soon as your dog lies on them.

It seemed like the perfect solution. I haven’t bought one yet, but it’s definitely going in my shopping basket. Anything that can give my pup a bit of relief from the heat is worth trying.

If you’re a dog owner too and you’ve noticed your pet struggling in this weather, it might be something to think about. Our pets give us so much love and joy—it’s only fair we do what we can to help them stay safe and comfortable when the temperatures climb.
