With this warm weather we’ve been having lately, I’ve found myself thinking a lot about my dog and how they must be coping. As much as I love a bit of sunshine, I can’t help but feel for our furry friends who don’t have the luxury of taking a cool shower or kicking off their fur coats!
My dog has definitely been slower on walks, seeking out shady spots, and flopping down in front of the fan whenever possible. It got me thinking—how can I help them stay cool and comfortable in this heat?
While browsing online the other day, I came across something I hadn’t considered before: a cooling mat for dogs. What a great idea! It’s such a simple yet effective way to keep our pets cool during the hotter months. Most of them don’t require any water or electricity—they’re pressure-activated and start working as soon as your dog lies on them.
It seemed like the perfect solution. I haven’t bought one yet, but it’s definitely going in my shopping basket. Anything that can give my pup a bit of relief from the heat is worth trying.
If you’re a dog owner too and you’ve noticed your pet struggling in this weather, it might be something to think about. Our pets give us so much love and joy—it’s only fair we do what we can to help them stay safe and comfortable when the temperatures climb.
