A Year of Change: Finding Happiness and Health

Daily writing prompt
Is your life today what you pictured a year ago?

If someone had told me a year ago where I would be today, I don’t think I would’ve believed them. Life has a funny way of surprising us, doesn’t it?

A year ago, I was working in a completely different job. At the time, I didn’t realize how much stress it was putting on me—both mentally and physically. I was pushing through because that’s what we often do, isn’t it? We keep going because we feel we have to. But deep down, I knew something had to change.

At the beginning of this year, I made one of the hardest decisions: I left that job. It wasn’t easy to walk away, but I knew I needed to prioritize myself. I needed space to recharge, breathe, and most importantly—heal. Stress can do more damage than we realize, and it was time to put my health and happiness first.

Fast forward to today, and I’m in a completely new role—one that feels so much better for me. The stress I carried for so long has lifted, and I finally feel happy. It’s not just about the job itself, but how it fits into my life now. I have peace of mind, I feel healthier, and I’m genuinely enjoying my work.

Sometimes, we’re afraid to take that leap into the unknown, but change can be exactly what we need to find a better version of ourselves. I’m so glad I took that step, and I hope this serves as a little reminder: it’s never too late to choose yourself.

Here’s to listening to our hearts, finding balance, and embracing the changes that make life better. ✨
